Tuesday Tutorial: The Joy Fold

Today's tutorial on the Whimsie Doodles blog is a simple fold called the Joy Fold, that has a lot of WOW factor!  There are also lots of great samples on SCS if you need some more inspiration.  This is how I make the Joy Fold....

Here is what you'll need:

One 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock
One 3" x 8" piece of cardstock
Designer paper cut smaller than your card base pieces(optional)
Additional cardstock (for your images)
Scoring tool
Adhesive
Rubber Stamps or Digis
Ink and Coloring Tools

Step 1:
Score the large piece of cardstock along the long side at 5-1/2".

Step 2:
Score the smaller piece of cardstock along the long side at 4".

Step 3 (optional):
Add decorative paper to the panels of your card base if desired.
The paper I used here is fabric paper from American Crafts.

Step 4:
Adhere smaller panel to the inside panel of the larger cardstock piece, with the opening to the opposite side.
Step 5:
Add images and embellishents.
If you want to secure the flap from opening, adhere an extra image (the hot air balloon on my card) with a 3D dotslightly over the edge of the smaller flap to keep it closed.

My card features the Whimsie Doodles rubber set, Every Other Day.
