WHEW! I'm finally back.....

Wow what a week-- My Grandma was here visiting all last week and on Thursday me and the boys were taking her home to NC and planning to keep on driving down to Pawley's Island (SC) for a little beach weekend. About halfway home I had to stop the car and call an ambulance for my Grandma who was having severe stomach pain, passing out and very weak. Miraculously, the exit I pulled over on was 1 block from a hospital, and after a long day in the ER and an emergency surgery to put stints in her kidney, Grandma is home and doing fine. It turns out she had two gigantic kidney stones and one was completely blocking her urinary tract and causing all sorts of scary problems as you can imagine. She lives alone, so I am grateful that we were with her when this all happened and could get her help--but Holy Moly was that scary for a minute. My boys (ages 6 and 2) were total angels through the whole bit, partly I'm sure because they were scared and didn't know what was going on, but angels none-the-less! And the ER staff at the hospital were nice enough to let us stay back in Grandma's room with her, even though little ones are not usually permitted, which was great for us and for her-- she was so scared! Believe it or not, after all of that, we were able to go down to the beach on Friday and enjoyed the weekend. We just walked in the door....

Needless to say, my little ole blog has been neglected over the last bit, aside from some things I was able to set up to go live automatically! In fact, one thing I totally dropped the ball on is this month's Simple Special Stunning feature on SheetLoad's blog. You definitely don't want to miss this-- it is FABULOUS!

Oh my goodness Nikki. That must have been so scary. I hate medical stuff. I was raised in a medical family and it still scares me..Hope you had a great few days at the beach. Hugs.
